The mix is made for quick preparation, which makes it suitable for morning/evening snacks or light meals. Just prepare the batter as instructed, steam it and you’ll have a plate of soft and spongy dhokla ready to serve. The dhokla’s flavour pairs well with popular accompaniments such as green chutney or tamarind chutney.

How to Cook / Use

How To Cook/Use?
You can prepare the MTR Dhokla Instant Mix in the following four steps:
Step 1
Mix 1 cup of MTR Dhokla Mix (200 g) with 3-4 tbsp cooking oil, ¼ cup curd and 1 cup water. All of these ingredients are used to form a smooth batter.
Step 2
Grease square or round baking trays or plates with a little oil. Pour equal quantities of batter (not more than 1 inch high) into each tray or plate to get proper thickness and puffing of the dhoklas. Sprinkle cumin powder and red chilli powder or black pepper powder on top.
Step 3
Steam the batter on medium to high flame for about 15 minutes.
Alternatively, use a microwave oven and steam the batter for 4-5 minutes at medium to high power using a microwave-safe vessel.
Step 4
Sprinkle prepared seasoning on top and garnish with grated coconut and finely chopped coriander leaves. Cut into cubes and serve.
For Seasoning
Heat 1 tbsp edible oil, add ¼ tsp mustard seeds, green chilli, red chilli and a pinch of asafoetida (hing). Cool the dhokla slightly and evenly spread the seasoning.
